Hip-hop musicologist and turntablist extraordinaire, DJ Mouli is one of Auckland’s most hard-working and active DJ’s in the genre. With 6 years experience in his field, he is not confined to any sub-genre but is focused on being an all-round hip-hop DJ.

Currently he’s co-Host of 95bFM’s True School Hip Hop Show, and plays regularly at 4:20’s Game Over Hip Hop night. He has learned from the best in the game, coming up as former co-host of Mai FM ’s Late Night Hype with DJ Sirvere, featured a scratch break on Major Flavours 5 and co-produced the Sirvere Punishment 3 mixtape with DJ Sirvere in 2004.

In addition to his mixing talents, Mouli is a veteran of the battle scene, having earned second place in the 2002 New Zealand ITF DJ Battle, and was a national finalist in the 2002 New Zealand DMC DJ Battle. A respected selector, he has played gigs of all sizes, including Big Day Out 2001 and support for legends such as DJ Craze, DJ QBert, DJ Babu, JRocc, DJ Numark and Lil’ Jaz.

Mouli also currently works part-time at Disruptiv in sales and distribution, at Beat Merchants record store as hip-hop specialist, and is looking to make his own place in the local hip-hop business game. Meean!
